Works on Vellum
This body of work experiments with using vellum to communicate a sense of loss and lightness. Different types of vellum and tracing paper are layered to create a loosely pieced together environment. The drawings on each layer of vellum are done mostly in colored pencil, although some drawings are done in artists' markers or paper cuts. These pieces explore the inevitable spareness of what can be remembered and build upon the discoveries made during the creation of Maternal Memory.
