Contradictions of Ancient Spaces
Below are images from two iterations of Contradictions of Ancient Spaces. Its first iteration was displayed for Origin in July 2019 which consisted of the red hut structure and a wilting fern. The second version was displayed for Becoming After in September 2019 and only utilized the red hut but interacted with the other pieces of work in the exhibition space.

The main component of this piece is a small red hut, modeled after clochán or dry stone huts, and consists of small cushions meant to mimic the stones used to build this sort of structure. Both iterations also have soil inside the hut creating a dirt floor, but the objects that resting inside the hut varied.

In the first iteration, a small green clay figure stands near two standing stones also in green with several more rounded blue stones scattered about. This is in reference to the Neolithic space created by structures such as this. Similar to how modern interiors reflect the time and culture they are from, so do these structures, particularly ones with interior space, create a strange reflection of a Neolithic world.
